Privacy policy

Tonewisp: Focus Music · Effective September 27, 2026

This policy describes Tonewisp's current iPhone app, optional Apple Watch companion, and website. The developer is Daniel Heck. Contact daniel@itisntluck.com for privacy questions or requests.

Music made on your device

Tonewisp generates music and visualizations on your iPhone. The app does not require an account, access your microphone, or send listening activity to a developer-operated server. The current app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs. It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Preferences, saved sessions and check-ins

Settings, saved composition descriptions, optional session goals and focus check-ins are stored locally on your device. These records contain your choices, not recordings of audio or measurements of brain activity. Apple device backups and system services depend on your Apple settings and are governed by Apple's policies.

You can delete saved sessions and clear focus check-ins within the app. Deleting Tonewisp removes its local app data from that device. Copies in device backups are managed through your Apple backup settings.

Purchases and free listening

Apple processes Tonewisp Plus subscriptions through the App Store. Tonewisp uses Apple-verified transaction information on your device to determine subscription access, including expiration, refunds and restoration. We do not receive your payment card details. Apple may provide sales, subscription and financial reports to the developer under its own policies. The app does not send transaction records to a developer-operated server.

A daily listening counter is stored locally on each device to provide 30 minutes of free listening per day. It is not used for advertising or sent to the developer. Active Plus subscribers have unlimited listening.

Optional Apple Watch Heart sync

Heart sync requires your permission to access Health data. During a live Mind & Body session, the Watch reads recent heart-rate measurements and shares them with your paired iPhone using Apple's workout-session mirroring. The iPhone uses the recent BPM to adjust musical tempo gradually. Readings are used during the session; Tonewisp does not write them into its saved sessions, transmit them to the developer, sell them or use them for advertising.

Tonewisp discards its workout session instead of saving a workout. The system session may affect Activity rings. Stop other workouts before using Heart sync. You can end Heart sync in the app and revoke Health access using Apple's Health permissions. The ordinary music player works without a Watch or Health permission. Apple's handling of underlying Health records is governed by your Apple settings and Apple's policies.

Support and diagnostics

If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and investigate problems. Please avoid sending heart-rate readings or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request. Support messages are processed by the email providers involved in delivering them and retained only as needed to resolve requests, maintain relevant support records or meet legal obligations. You can request deletion by emailing daniel@itisntluck.com, subject to any legally required retention.

Apple may provide app diagnostics according to your device settings. If you use a TestFlight build, Apple also manages beta feedback and testing reports. The developer may receive the feedback, attachments and diagnostic information Apple makes available. Apple's services are governed by Apple's privacy policy and your settings.

This website

Cloudflare hosts this website and may process technical request information, such as IP address, browser information and requested URLs, to deliver and secure it. This site does not include advertising, third-party analytics scripts, tracking pixels, account registration or a contact form. Contact links open your email application. Cloudflare's processing is described in its privacy policy.

Your choices and policy changes

You can use the app without Health access, remove local records, delete the app, and contact daniel@itisntluck.com about personal information you send to support. We do not receive your locally stored listening sessions or Health readings and cannot retrieve or delete those records remotely. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights concerning information held about you.

We will update this policy when the app or site's data practices change and show the new effective date here.
